Social Security has announced that five diseases have been added to their list of conditions eligible for the compassionate allowance. This is a program wherein Social Security looks for those medical problems that are so severe that Social Security is likely to approve anyone with them for Social Security disability benefits. These medical disorders are so bad that Social Security can approve a disability claimant based on a diagnosis alone.
The new conditions are:
Fibrolamellar cancer
Megacystis microcolon
Intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome
Superficial siderosis of the central nervous system
Tetrasomy 18p
I sincerely hope that no one reading this has any of these dread diseases. But, if you or someone you know does, have that person get in touch with Social Security immediately.
