As the new year gets underway, it pays to be aware of changes in the way that Social Security will operate in 2020. The Motley Fool has a nice rundown of these new provisions. If you are getting any sort of Social Security benefit, especially retirement or disability, it would be wise to note what is new for the new year.
Changes For 2020
For the disabled, the most important new rules are:
• A slight cost-of-living increase in monthly benefits
• A similarly slight increase in how much a person can earn and still be considered disabled
• A rise in how much it takes to earn one-quarter of credit
If you have any questions about these changes or how they will affect your Social Security disability claim or benefits, let me know.
